7-Eleven Canada Celebrates July 11 with Free Slurpee
On Friday, July 11, 7-Eleven is celebrating its name day with free Slurpee nationwide, featuring three delicious summer flavours quenching thirst one sip at a time: Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl, Fanta Pomegranate Cherry and Lychee Lemonade.
“The first Slurpee poured in Canada was in Calgary in 1969, and since then, it has served as an iconic representation of 7-Eleven, growing in popularity and evolving in flavour year after year,” said Marc Goodman, Vice President and General Manager of 7-Eleven Canada. “It’s only right that we celebrate our name day by sharing our favourite beverage, free of charge, to the Canadians that helped to make it such a success.”
Slurpee is served at -2.2 degrees Celsius, and more than 40 per cent are sold during the summer months. The icy drink is particularly beloved in Winnipeg, where residents often greet friends and family at the airport with Slurpee.
Canadians nationwide have proven that no Slurpee is complete without a savoury treat, and 2025 data shows Slurpee food pairings vary by province. Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba pair their Slurpee with Sev’s Taquito Monterey Chicken, whereas Ontario prefers the Taquito Beef Taco and Cheese. Saskatchewan is all about the Potato Wedge and Chicken Wing combinations.
To sweeten the deal, Canadians can round up their summer transactions to the next dollar until August 26 to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network, with 100% of donations supporting local children's hospital foundations.
